Hello everybody!
I would like to give you a firsthand account of the story of Can Cabrer. Please allow me to introduce myself: My name is Josep and I am running the shop Can Cabrer for the third generation since I took it over from my father Jordi In 1972 as he did from my grandfather Jaume before.
Can Cabrer opened its doors as a family business in Artà in 1916 and , God willing, in 2016 we will celebrate our 100th anniversary.
Can Cabrer has gone through different changes, both in the shop and its product offering, but the real change came to happen in 2013 as the shop began to concentrated on majorcan products and particularly on the hand-harvested sea salt “Flor de Sal des Trenc”.
Our children Irene and Jordi wanted to keep Can Cabrer alive and they have put the distribution system up-to-date by creating this web-site to let give you the perfect access to buy our gourmet products from Artà, our hometown, as well as products from other majorcan villages.
I do not want to say goodbye without mentioning that without the support of my wife Maria, all this would not have been posible. She has been and still is the spirit of the shop. I want to thank my children, Pilar and Enric that will be in charge of the new project from now on and guarantee its continuity hopefully during many years. You will be the ones who are going to enjoy the selection of delicate food they will offer to you, as you are the best gourmets of the world.
